Project: A drawing a metal object
Materials: Video, "Drawing a Spoon," 2B, 3B, 5B, 6B, drawing pencils, mechanical pencils with HB, 2B and 3B lead, eraser, blending stumps, regular sketch paper, high quality drawing paper and a reference picture or object. No pictures from the internet or any published pictures can be used. Objective: Find a metal object or take a close up picture of an object to draw and shade in detail. Procedure: Watch the "Drawing a Spoon," video. Create a new graphite transfer by scribbling on the back of a piece of paper or reuse one from the previous project. Place the drawing on top of final draft paper with the graphite transfer sheet below it and trace over the drawing to make a transfer. It is easiest to take a picture of an object to print out and place under a gridded plastic protective sheet but you may draw it free hand as well. Watch the video once and then watch it again to complete your own drawing from your reference picture or object.
