Project: Create a 3D sculpture of an abstract form
Materials: Videos: "Alexander Calder," "Calder Nonspace," "Alexander Calder's Outdoor Mobiles and Stables," and "K2 Abstract Paper Sculpture," glue, scissors, red and black construction paper. Objective: Learn about Alexander Calder and then create a simple red and black 3D paper sculpture that can stand or hang. Students should learn that Calder invented the mobile but also created abstract stables as well.
